Moving ahead on our Maine House
Decisions. Decisions. Decisions. We are not normally snappy decision makers. We think everything over, and over, and over. In order to move forward, we now must make many decisions, quickly. Where should the driveway go, what are the shower fixtures, which way do the doors open, what are the appliances, where do the radiators go, where do the fresh air vents go, what is the ceiling finish going to be, what windows do we want on our screen porch, where will we park our cars, where will the snowguards go on the roof, what is the exact opening needed for our wood stove (that we have not yet ordered), what tiles will we have and where does the drain in the shower go, and the list goes on and on and on.
The good news? We have started rough plumbing, electricity and the fresh air system. The roof trim and soffit are almost done. The standing seam metal roof is supposed to go on next week. A suive.
A Greenhouse in Maine
French hubby has been busy . . . and we now have our very own greenhouse. Something to look forward to in spring, planting our seedlings early. Yay!
First Snow and Windows in Maine.
November 2, 2014
Last week we had our first snow. Unexpected, wet and heavy. Trees were down and electricity out everywhere, for days. After losing a week to rain, two more days to snow was not ideal for the progress on our house.
Nevertheless, the windows are all in, the front porch is going up and the screen porch started and moving along as we design it.
Now it is on to the electrical plan, plumbing, utilities, appliances, tiles, fixtures, kitchen, and doors. Aie.
