Windows KitchenCuppett Architects gorgeous kitchen & window inspiration

As our house plans progress, we must choose windows. The choices are many and varied; double hung (guillotine as French hubby calls them), casement, tilt-turn (what we are used to in France). Then we need to decide between wood, aluminum, fiberglass, wood and aluminum combination etc. Will the screens go on the inside or out? How many partitions are in the windows, if any? R values vary as does the price and the country of manufacture of the windows. Local would be nice for fabrication and materials. Our goal: local, natural, long-lasting, beautiful and, of course, tight for high R value.

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions? Help!

We move. Slowly. Forward. We hope. Design is almost done. We hope. Estimates can be done soon. We hope. This process has been so much longer than we thought, or hoped. It has been painstaking.

We are detailing out every detail. And the details keep changing. Evolving. Back and forth we go. But a house is emerging. We hope. Spring is on the way. We also hope. For now, snow abounds. Stay tuned.
